By accessing or using DuoBean AI ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of any changes.

You must be at least 18 years old to use DuoBean AI. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age.

If you are using the App on behalf of a patient (as a caregiver or family member), you represent that you have the legal authority to act on their behalf and that they have consented to their health data being tracked.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

DuoBean AI offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.

• Free Tier: Includes limited features. You may use the free tier indefinitely.
• Paid Tiers (Plus & Pro): Require active subscription. Features are described on our pricing page.
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
• Refunds: Available under specific conditions described in our [Refund Policy](/refund-policy).
• Price Changes: We will provide advance notice of any price changes.

DuoBean AI uses artificial intelligence to analyze food photos, extract lab values, and provide nutritional estimates.

The Lab Results Translator feature extracts values from uploaded documents and provides plain-language explanations.

• OCR and AI extraction may occasionally misread values
• You must verify all extracted values before saving
• Explanations are educational only — do not replace your doctor's interpretation
• Critical value alerts are informational and not a substitute for emergency care

Your privacy is critically important to us. Please review our separate Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Key points:

• We never sell your personal or health data to third parties
• Lab report PDFs are processed and deleted immediately
• You own your data and may export or delete it at any time
• We use industry-standard encryption to protect your information

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to bypass usage limits or abuse the free tier
• Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise the App's security
• Scrape or extract data for commercial purposes without permission
• Share your account credentials with unauthorized users

All content, design elements, logos, and code comprising DuoBean AI are the exclusive property of DuoBean AI and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DuoBean AI and its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

• Any medical decisions made based on information from the App
• Inaccuracies in AI-generated estimates or extracted lab values
• Loss of data due to technical issues (please maintain your own records)
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

DuoBean AI integrates with third-party services including:

• Clerk - Authentication (their privacy policy applies)
• Supabase - Database and storage (their terms apply)
• OpenRouter.ai - AI processing (their terms apply)
• Web Speech - Voice assistant (if enabled)

We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services. Please review their respective terms.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these terms. Upon termination:

• Your paid subscription will be cancelled
• You may request export of your data within 30 days
• We may delete your data after a reasonable retention period

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Johannesburg, South Africa.
